And Now Something Completely Different....Again

Sorry for the lack of updates, as usual, but as all great minds I've chosen to deflect the blame from me and towards my editor.

Wilson (Mr.Crazy/Corran Rhys) has been helping with the comic ever since Issue #3 as the editor. But at the start of the summer he went on a much needed leave of duty and the comic stopped for awhile. After about a month past I began to grow impatient with his newfound freedom and started sending him messages.

That's when I found out he had been in the hospital for the past week. Wilson had been suffering from a nose bleed that would not stop. So my immediate response was to badger him for sitting around and not doing any work.

That's partially why I created the recent comic. The main reason is that I wanted to test out making a retro-style comic. I have an idea for a new web-comic I'd like to make using the old Jetsons look which has a very neat idea behind it. Once I feel the idea is ready, I'll post about it here and show some preview strips.

If I do take on the project, Tales From A PUG will most likely be put on hold. I would like to continue doing this comic, but I feel it would be better that I did something else instead of waiting to get lucky and find a proper artist.

That's all I've got to say, so stay tuned for news on the future of this comic and my new one in the works.

Time Keeps On Ticking

Writing short jokes for an comic based on an MMO is not easy stuff. Especially when you haven't played the MMO in question for a few months.

Guild Wars to me is now a foreign object. I haven't been fully into Guild Wars for a good while now, and now that I'm starting to play it more again, it's easy to notice I'm dealing with a new beast. I have always been heavy in the PvP side of the game (except for GvG, for some reason I've never tried it) and after playing a few rounds in Random Arena, I have felt the swift boot of time lodge it's self in between my eyes. All my old tricks of the trade have become obsolete, and this just shows how dynamic the game really is.

Last panel for the comic today used a screen shot from freelancer, one of my all time favorites ;)

Just Call Me Mr. Lazy

Last two pages of "The Job" are up.

Too lazy to make a proper news post :P For an update of what's happening right now just check the comments of the news post posted before this one.

Before The PUG: On The Job

First five pages of a new Before The PUG is waiting for your precious eyes to gaze over them, and on Monday the last two will be posted.

If you haven't noticed yet, Issue #1 has been remade into a much more tamed beast and I'll be doing the same with #2 and #3 soon. We're still looking for an artist. If your gifted at making a bunch of pretty scribbles, check out the post below!

The PUG is Getting a Makeover.....Hopefully....

Tales From a PUG is going under some "re-tooling" for the next little bit. First up the original three issues are being remade due to some...uhh...quality issues. They'll feature new jokes and much more spelling...good...ness.

Next we've decided to take a new path with the comic. We have managed to survive as a screen shot comic for a good while now but man can only go so far with the limitations the game engine presents. Starting with the next issue, Tales From a PUG will now be drawn.

Well thats if we find an artist, which leads me to the real reason for this news post. If you consider the pencil (or pen if you swing that way) as your weapon of choice and want to help the PUG live to its full potential, keep reading.

We are looking for an artist that will be willing to help put out a new page at least twice a week (this is negotiable) and will remain relatively dedicated to the comic (i.e doesn't quit the first week). This is a volunteer job but we'll try to honor your services each chance we get (a.k.a gifts...which are a.k.a Mr Crazy's nose hair). If you can handle drawing but you're not so great with the post work (templates, speech balloons, fancy comic effect, etc...) then I'll gladly do that part of the process for you.

If this sounds like your kind of monkey, get a rabies shot and send an email to smokey_jack@hotmail.com with the following:

Name:
Guild Wars IGN (if you have one):
A sample of your art
And anything else you feel I should know (can't do certain post work, your tendency to disappear for months at a time, how many pennies you can hold in your mouth, etc....)

*Edit: The revised Issue #1 is now up! Only 2 more to go!

Issue #5

Issue #5 is now up to satisfy your mediocre entertainment needs. This issue ties up some loose ends and opens up some new ones, but you will only notice that if your not intoxicated as you read it, which I don't recommend.

It may be awhile before my next update seeing as I'll be in sunny Calgary this weekend so you lads and ladettes are on your own for awhile (and for the cast that means no shoot, hurray!!!). We may possibly do another Before the PUG or Rhys comic instead of Issue #6 next, but its still undecided.

Welp I'm off to Calgary! I hear its shorts season there right now. Adios for now.

Issue #4

Sorry for the lateness of the comic, it took a lot longer to do then I expected. Issue #5 wont be out for another week or so because I didn't get much of a chance to write the new script :P

We here at the PUG would like to thank Dumm Bumsentard (that name just rolls off the tongue) for filling in as the PUG's warrior for the issue. As you may have noticed (unless you we're in a drug induced state at the time....) we removed some of the cast. Well this is just a temp thing to speed up the shoots until I feel we can work with a larger cast again. So to the cast that I didn't contact already, don't worry we'll be adding you back in at a later date.

That's all from me, you may now return to your regular mesmer bashing duties.

The Return Part 3

Sorry for the lateness of part 3. I've sort of had it done for a few days now but I didn't post it up due to the fact that I didn't have much to write news wise.

And I still don't....

Uhh...so...there ya go...

Issue #4 is up next and, if we're lucky, will be done by next week. Rhys is writing another comic which might be up before #4 if I can break him down to get me the shots for it. Bloody pirates...their all lazy...

Wow, I guess I did have news.

*Edit: Oops, forgot to add the title :P Fixing that right now

*Double Edit: Now its fixed
